Job Summary
Culinary Director responsible for overseeing the Culinary department in a senior-living setting, ensuring five-star dining experiences, menu development based on resident needs, portion control, waste reduction, and adherence to culinary standards. Leads and trains the kitchen and front-of-house teams, manages documentation and communications, and collaborates with management to optimize food quality, costs, and resident satisfaction. Requires formal culinary training or equivalent management experience, strong leadership and supervision skills, proficiency with Word/Excel, and the ability to work primarily indoors with some outdoor event exposure.
Required Qualifications
- minimum 3 years of experience in senior housing or related field (preferred, not required)
- formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory/management experience
- ability to lead, train, supervise staff
- proficient written and verbal communication with management and staff
- ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- physical ability to stand/walk/bend/kneel
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- health screening and TB clearance
- criminal background clearance
