Job Summary

The Culinary Chef Instructor at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is responsible for teaching students in both classroom and hands-on kitchen environments. Essential duties include developing and preparing lesson plans, evaluating student performance, advising students on career paths, and maintaining educational materials. Required qualifications include a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and seven years of industry experience, along with supervisory experience. Candidates must also demonstrate high proficiency in culinary techniques and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Foodservice Management, Hospitality, or a related field
  • Minimum seven (7) years post-graduate industry experience
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Proven track record of skill level progression in culinary education

  • Relevant work experience in volume food service
  • Fine dining experience
