Culinary Assistant

Job Summary
Assist in preparing healthy, flavorful menu options and maintain a clean, organized kitchen. Monitor and record daily temperature logs for refrigerators and freezers; ensure high quality food and beverages are provided in a timely manner; serve meals to clients with attention to special needs. Maintain kitchen equipment in an orderly and sanitary manner; support proper rotation of food items to prevent spoilage. Interact with clients professionally and collaborate with peers, the accounting team, and third-party vendors as needed. Requires strong communication, organization, and teamwork; working knowledge of state and local food safety standards; able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate standard kitchen tools. More duties may be assigned by the Executive Chef to support overall kitchen operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 1+ years of prior food service in the human services field required
- ServeSafe certification preferred
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task
- Good time management and ability to work within deadlines
- Working knowledge of Google email, sheets, and docs
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Operate basic hand tools, powered and non-powered
