Job Summary
Offer and serve menu choices to residents in a cheerful, respectful manner while adhering to portion control standards. Thoroughly clean and sanitize all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers, operating dish machines and pre-soaking items per directions. Prepare various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director and monitor daily menus to verify preparation and labeling. Store leftovers appropriately, organize work schedules to meet serving times, and assist in accepting vendor deliveries. Includes every other weekend and holiday rotation with a full-time 8a-430p shift.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service
- Must be able to work full time 8a-430p
- Must be available for every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Must be able to communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with others
- Must be able to offer and serve menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner
- Must be able to follow portion control size standards
- Must be able to thoroughly clean and sanitize all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers
- Must be able to operate equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner
- Must be able to prepare various menu items as assigned
- Must be able to monitor daily menu items to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled
- Must be able to store leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards
- Must be able to organize and plan work schedule to meet times for serving
- Must be able to operate dish machine according to directions
- Must be able to pre-soak and sort dishes and utensils
- Must be able to assist in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas
