Job Summary
Prepare food according to the established menu and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Clean kitchen, food service equipment, and storage areas while maintaining a safe, orderly environment free of hazards. Follow sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules; respond promptly to resident and family requests. Communicate effectively in a language each resident understands and report safety hazards immediately. Comply with attendance policies, attend mandatory trainings, and follow HIPAA regulations. Assist with training new employees and take on special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Less than one year related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

- Ability to maintain a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates
- Ability to practice good body mechanics and safe working habits
- Ability to observe and report safety hazards immediately to supervisor
- Ability to work as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
