Job Summary
Culinary Assistant in Artful Dining assists with food preparation and serving for residents, families, and guests under general supervision. Duties include following established menus and sanitation procedures, cleaning dishes and storage areas, serving residents at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and dining area, responding to residents’ requests, communicating clearly with residents and colleagues, and supporting a dignified, respectful atmosphere. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to policies, training of new dining staff when necessary, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- HIPAA regulations knowledge
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in trainings
- Ability to follow sanitation, safety, and cleaning procedures
