Culinary Assistant 3 Days a week and Every Other Weekend

Job Summary
Prepare food according to the established menu and serve residents at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Clean kitchen, food service equipment, and dining areas daily while adhering to sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules. Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment by observing and reporting hazards, practicing proper body mechanics, and following emergency procedures. Respond promptly to resident and family requests while communicating effectively in a language each resident understands. Comply with HIPAA regulations, attend mandatory trainings, and assist with new employee training as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Less than one year related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

- Ability to work as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
- Ability to demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management
- Ability to respond promptly and courteously to residents' and family members' requests for assistance
