Job Summary
Plan, prepare and deliver culinary instruction by developing schemes of work, lesson plans and tests in accordance with established procedures; instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment; utilize relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction; manage student behavior and maintain discipline; provide feedback, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies; maintain accurate records of students' progress and prepare required reports; participate in meetings and communicate with students, colleagues, and parents regarding progress and needs; establish clear objectives for learning activities and prepare the classroom for activities; participate in professional activities and extracurriculars as directed; demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse backgrounds; perform other duties as assigned; heavy emphasis on planning, assessment, and classroom management within a culinary arts context.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in teaching or related field
- ANSI-CFP Accredited Food Protection Manager Certification
- North Carolina State certification in teaching in the appropriate subject area
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district and state
