Job Summary
Collaborate with the dietary team to deliver excellent food service by understanding dietary extensions, orders, and tray cards. Engage respectfully with patients and residents while performing defined work routines using various utensils, supplies, and equipment assigned by the Chefs or Kitchen Manager. Execute cleaning procedures to maintain sanitary conditions in the area and equipment, measuring and mixing cleaning agents as required. This role involves preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, and operating dietary equipment within a 345-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center on the Great South Bay. Flexible hours are required to accommodate culture change implementations.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow dietary extensions, dietary orders / restrictions / food consistencies according to tray cards and work assignments
- Engage with patients and residents we serve is a respectful and professional manner
- Must show a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- Must be able to measure and mix cleaning agents and chemicals
- Must possess good motor skills and manual dexterity
- Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, to accommodate changes due to culture change implementations
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food Service experience preferred
