Job Summary
Culinary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving meals to residents according to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling practices, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and washing dishes under the supervision of the Culinary Services Manager. Core duties include performing assigned food preparation tasks, serving trays at the correct temperature and time, assisting with inventory and storage of foods/supplies/equipment, supporting daily cleaning tasks in work areas and equipment, and complying with sanitariness, safety, and infection-control policies and state/federal regulations. The role requires reading/writing English, strong attention to detail, and adherence to nutrition/dietary procedures for a long-term care setting, with opportunities for orientation, training, and professional development. The position is part-time with a 2:00 PM–8:30 PM shift, including weekends and holidays, at Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim in Sequim, WA. It also offers a comprehensive benefits package and equal opportunity employment. The wage range is $18-$19/hour DOE.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPR/BLS Certification (must maintain during employment)
- Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department
- Ability to read, write, and follow English oral and written directions
- Attention to detail for tray setup, portion control, and sanitizing dishes/equipment
- Knowledge of food service sanitation and safety standards
- Ability to maintain high personal hygiene
- Interpersonal skills to work with department and other departments
- Willingness to learn to operate kitchen equipment
- Ability to adhere to dietary practices and related regulations for long-term care facilities
