Job Summary

Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary practices. Season and cook food according to recipes, observing temperature controls on ovens and grills. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients while washing, peeling, and cutting produce. Portion, arrange, and garnish meals for patrons, baking breads, meats, fish, and vegetables. Substitute for other cooks during emergencies or rush periods. Estimate food consumption and prepare relishes and hors d'oeuvres. Clean preparation areas and maintain sanitation standards. Transport meals between day center locations using a personal vehicle. Rotate across Explorer, Pikes Peak, and Quail Lake Day Center locations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in food service industry
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler's License (or Food Handler's Card/Certificate) prior to start date
  • Must possess a valid, current Colorado Driver's License with a driving record in good standing and in compliance with Company policy
  • valid personal automobile insurance
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • demonstrate the ability to interact clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Basic computer skills to include sending and receiving emails
  • Working knowledge of large-quantity meal preparation
  • menu planning
  • routine reporting to the Head Chef
  • flexible to rotate across Explorer, Pikes Peak, and Quail Lake Day Center locations
  • all shifts originate and conclude at Pikes Peak
