Job Summary
Facilitate teacher-provided academic enrichment lessons and activities for Cub Club students in a safe, engaging afterschool environment while providing supervision and classroom management. Assist with transitions, materials, and daily program routines, and develop and deliver lessons according to Texas Education Agency guidelines that incorporate accommodations for different learning styles. Monitor and report student progress, resolve parent or student issues, and manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and Cub Club Handbook. Compile and submit required reports, supervise volunteer assignments, and collaborate with staff to enhance instructional practices. Maintain a safe campus environment, communicate with parents using district-approved protocols, and participate in professional development activities aligned with program needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate
- Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) for assigned area
- Knowledge of curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and refinement
- Knowledge of effective instruction and evaluation methodologies
- Knowledge of continuous improvement process
- Skill in using technology as a learning tool in all content areas
- Skill in engaging others in collective inquiry and problem-solving
- Skill in collecting, analyzing, and using data to support student learning
- Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices
- Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds
