Job Summary

Implement individual service plans and facilitate community residence routines for individuals with developmental or physical disabilities. Assist with activities of daily living, hygiene, and meal preparation while engaging residents in meaningful social activities and independent living skills. Provide transportation to day programs, maintain facility grounds including snow removal, and administer medication per DPH regulations. Ensure resident safety by following emergency protocols, conducting fire drills, and responding to crisis situations. Collect data to demonstrate training program effectiveness and participate in service plan development and staff meetings. Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education Social Work, or related field
  • H.S. diploma and related experience
  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts Driver's License
  • Safe driving record in accordance with WORK INC policy
  • An acceptable CORI
  • An acceptable SDIP
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals served
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, ability to create and interpret graphs
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical data in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • The ability to read, analyze and interpret journals, financial reports and legal documents
  • The ability to respond to common inquiries of complaints
  • The ability to effectively present information to the Board of Directors, employees, program participants and members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively communicate with families/guardians and funding agencies and ancillary services
  • Good standing balance, defined as the ability to stand and walk without a loss of balance
  • Full upper extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain: Full shoulder flexion, extension, abduction, and rotation
  • Full upper extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain: Full elbow flexion, extension, supination and pronation
  • Full upper extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain: Full wrist flexion, extension, radial and ulnar deviation
  • Normal upper extremity strength defined as the ability to move the specified body part through a full range of motion against maximum resistance
  • Full lower extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain: Full hip flexion, extension, abduction, adduction and rotation
  • Full lower extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain: Full knee flexion and extension
  • Full lower extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain: Full ankle flexion and extension
  • Normal lower extremity strength defined as the ability to move the specified body part through a full range of motion against maximum resistance
  • Full trunk range of motion as defined by the ability to obtain full flexion and extension, rotation and side bending
  • Full cervical range of motion as defined by the ability to obtain full flexion and extension, lateral flexion and rotation
  • Ability to obtain full flexion and extension, rotation and side bending for the trunk
  • Ability to obtain full flexion and extension, lateral flexion and rotation for the cervical spine
  • Ability to obtain full flexion, extension, abduction, and rotation for the shoulder
  • Ability to obtain full flexion, extension, supination and pronation for the elbow
  • Ability to obtain full flexion, extension, radial and ulnar deviation for the wrist
