Job Summary
7th Grade Career Exploration Teacher to develop and implement a Career Exploration curriculum aligned to California’s 15 CTE industry sectors, including Health Science, Engineering, Arts, Public Safety, Information Technology, Business, Agriculture, and more. Design project-based, exploratory learning experiences that integrate entrepreneurship, innovation, and real-world application. Guide students through career discovery activities, simulations, role plays, and guest speaker experiences. Introduce students to basic career readiness concepts such as soft skills, resume building, time management, collaboration, and communication. Collaborate with teachers and counselors to connect CTE topics with academics and school initiatives. Expose students to college and career pathways, high school CTE programs, and the future of work. Foster a growth mindset and inclusive, culturally responsive instruction. Utilize technology to support learning and connect students with industry tools. Participate in school events, study trips, and advisory committees. Lead DECA/FBLA/FCCLA participation and competitions at various levels. Adhere to the 12 elements of high-quality CTE in California. Requires a valid California teaching credential in CTE and at least two years of related teaching experience; bilingual Spanish is highly desirable. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or higher
- Valid California teaching credential in Career Technical Education (CTE)
- Minimum of two years of related work experience in the CTE industry sector
