Job Summary
Teach Business, Finance, and Information Technology classes aligned with North Carolina Essential Standards, planning and delivering instruction that fosters student educational and social development. Manage classroom behavior, instruct students on equipment safety, and evaluate performance to prepare progress reports. Select instructional materials, maintain inventory records, and communicate with parents and counselors regarding student growth. Participate in faculty committees, student activity sponsorship, and professional learning communities while maintaining professional competence through in-service training.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Business, Finance, and Information Technology Education
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in Microsoft Word
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in Microsoft Access
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in Intuit QuickBooks
- Solid understanding of research best practices
- Knowledge of students' growth, development, and learning
- Skilled in assessment and using its data for teaching and learning
- Ability to meet the needs of all learners
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Ability to perform general clerical duties
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to operate common office machines and technology
- Ability to develop and compile records and reports
- Ability to maintain basic files and records
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to receive and perform instructions, assignments, and directions from supervisors
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments
- Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
- Ability to exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with the public
- Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions
- Experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Experience with the use of technology in the delivery of instruction to students

- Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with emergency situations
