Job Summary

Deliver high-quality instruction based on the July 2025 Automotive Technician Standards, covering core areas like brake systems, electrical systems, and engine performance. Instruct students in foundational standards and employability skills, including professional communication and critical thinking. Provide training for Essential Credentials such as ASE Entry-Level Certifications and teach diagnostic procedures using the "Three C's" method. Train students to use precision measuring tools proficiently while strictly adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations regarding PPE and safe procedures for high-pressure and high-voltage systems. Model ethical behavior in a modern shop environment and commit to ongoing learning regarding computerized diagnostic tools and advanced vehicle safety features.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Massachusetts DESE Chapter 74 license in Automotive Technology
  • Minimum 5 years of full-time, directly related employment in the automotive industry
  • Current ASE Certification or similar certification in at least 3 areas of Automotive Technology
  • Knowledge of OSHA 10 General Industry and S/P2 Safety & Pollution Prevention protocols
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Passing scores on required Vocational Technical Literacy and Communication tests
  • Ability to pass Vocational Technical Literacy and Communication tests within the first year of employment
