CT Technologist

Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, capturing quality diagnostic images while adhering to ALARA principles. Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose. Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms or equipment per infection control schedules, identifying and reporting equipment issues promptly. Obtain clinical history, screen for contraindications, and verify orders before any exam. Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET, addressing questions and reducing patient anxiety. Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety, providing age-appropriate care throughout the visit. Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable. Position patients correctly, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated. Review images for diagnostic acceptability, repeating or correcting as needed and releasing patients appropriately. Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS. Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required. Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes, collaborating with technologists and modalities to support department flow. Support operations and compliance, keeping areas orderly and stocked, transporting patients safely, completing charging and clerical tasks, following regulatory requirements, and escalating issues to the supervisor.
