Job Summary
Maintain ARRT competency and operate CT equipment to perform high-quality diagnostic scans while ensuring proper patient identification and order verification. Review and evaluate images for quality and accuracy, administer contrast media per protocol, and provide appropriate patient education and comfort measures. Adhere to radiation safety guidelines, infection control standards, and sterile techniques while completing studies within acceptable time limitations. Communicate pertinent information to other care providers, maintain accurate patient records, and assist students in exam protocols. Recognize emergent situations to respond appropriately and stay updated with CT technology advancements through continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years CT Experience
- 1-2 years Experience in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrates understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
- Demonstrates proficiency in operating CT equipment with a strong understanding of CT imaging techniques and protocols
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of protocols relating to contrast administration, including contrast injector operation as applicable
- Demonstrates understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging including ability to view, transfer and manipulate images
- Recognizes emergent patient situations and can respond appropriately
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other caregivers and patients
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire
- Licensure in state of practice as applicable, Upon Hire
- IV Competency within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT)
- For caregivers hired in this role in the State of Colorado, a Fluoroscopy certification
- Specific facility-based certification
- 1-2 years' Work Experience CT Experience in a hospital setting
