Job Summary
CT Technologist responsible for producing cross-sectional CT images for disease diagnosis across multiple health-system locations. Tasks include operating CT scanners safely to minimize radiation dose while maintaining image quality, coordinating examinations to optimize patient flow, and participating in continuing education and teaching opportunities for technologists and students. Requires management of contrast reactions, patient assessment and education, venous access for contrast administration, and adherence to policies and protocols. The role supports the department’s education strategies, contributes to ongoing staff development, and aligns with KU Hospital’s mission and vision. Qualifications emphasize completion of radiologic technology education, ARRT CT certification within 180 days, LRT licensure within 90 days, and BLS certification; bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field is preferred. The position is full-time, daytime hours, based in Kansas City, KS, with responsibility for operations and patient care across affiliated locations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate Or GED
- Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
- Bachelors Degree in Radiologic Technology or in a related field (preferred)
- Experience performing basic CT procedures (preferred)
- 1+ years of large facility experience (preferred)
- ARRT CT certification within 180 days (required)
- LRT licensure within 90 days (required)
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Knowledge of RIS, PACS, EMR
