Job Summary
Prepare patients with intravenous medications and contrast media, then produce computerized tomography scans by entering patient data, programming the scanner, and operating the power injector. Evaluate image quality, utilize radiation protection protocols, and manage infection control policies. Schedule and charge patients, retrieve films, and facilitate physician inquiries while explaining procedures and acquiring patient histories. Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the exam. Requires ARRT registration, 20 hours of CT training, CPR certification, and ability to lift 35 lbs. Part-time day shift, 28 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Technology program
- Currently registered by the American registry of radiologic technologists (ARRT), the Canadian association of medical radiation technologists (CAMRT), or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Maintain continuing education credits per biennium to retain registry status in compliance with the CE requirements of the certifying organization for the imaging modality in which services are performed
- At least 2 of these credits must be in CT
- Document at least 20 hours of training and experience in operating CT equipment, radiation physics, and radiation protection or have the advanced certification in computed tomography from the ARRT
- Certification or re-certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire
- Ability to lift up to a maximum of 35lbs. and perform push/pull tasks that require a maximum force of 35 lbs.
- ARRT(CT), and/or must obtain the ARRT(CT) within one year of hire
