Job Summary
Competently perform routine and specialized computerized tomography procedures to produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. Execute safe, precise procedures while gaining patient cooperation through effective communication and attentive monitoring. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options. Work independently within a team environment, prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines using standardized operating procedures. This full-time, non-exempt role offers a weekly schedule of 40 hours across 10 days with variable shifts, including weekends as needed. The position is located at the ABSMC-Summit Campus and requires a CRT-certified Radiologic Technologist with JRCERT-accredited program graduation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
- CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist (from state where work is being performed)
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 Days of hire if required at the affiliate
- SGMF - CVENI-Certified Venipuncture
- General knowledge of diagnostic computerized tomography principles, procedures, views, and equipment
- Some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies
- Capable of performing routine CT examinations
- Basic understanding of human anatomy
- Basic understanding of physiology
- Basic understanding of pathology
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments
- Ability to work within standardized operating procedures
- Ability to work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods
- Ability to meet deadlines
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- General knowledge of Radiology (RIS)
- General knowledge of laboratory (LIS)
- General knowledge of electronic health records (EHR)
- General knowledge of EPIC
- General knowledge of picture archive and communication system (PACS)
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
