Job Summary
Perform diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scans and produce quality exam images while exercising professional judgment in procedure performance. Provide patient care and initiate life support measures as necessary, interacting effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and department staff. Operate CT equipment to execute related procedures and protocols, utilizing new technology and orienting new employees. Obtain information from patients to improve personalized treatment and care, developing an understanding of their physical and emotional status across all age groups. On a continuum, expand responsibilities based on facility needs to include on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays, performing basic diagnostic radiology tasks, mobile imaging, EKG, cardiac monitor placement, and DEXA procedures. Requires AMA-approved Radiologic Technology training, ARRT certification, and BLS/IV certification within six weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification at the time of hire
- Licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board if working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures
- CT certification within 24 months of hire if working in Aberdeen, South Dakota
- Permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health if working in the state of Iowa
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary
- Acceptance of a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
