Job Summary
Perform diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images and produce quality exam images using professional judgment. Operate CT equipment to execute procedures and protocols while providing patient care and initiating life support measures as necessary. Interact effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and department staff to obtain information that improves personalized treatment. On a continuum, develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status while working well with all age groups. Shifts vary with full-time 40-hour weekly schedules. Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand responsibilities to include on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as mobile imaging, EKG, cardiac monitor placement, and DEXA procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification at the time of hire
- Licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board if working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures
- CT certification within 24 months of hire if working in Aberdeen, South Dakota (SD)
- Permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health if working in the state of Iowa
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary
- Acceptance of a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Computerized Tomography (CT) training or experience
- CT certification obtained within two years
