Job Summary
CT Technologist – Radiology performs computerized axial tomography procedures, acquires and processes exams (including multiplanar reformats and 3D renderings), administers IV/oral/rectal contrast, reviews cases with radiologists, ensures patient and staff safety, and may assume CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator duties. Requires registration in Radiography and CT within stated timelines, BLS, and licensure with IEMA; expected to maintain imaging quality, transfer data to PACS, assist in cross-training modalities, and participate in ongoing productivity and safety standards. Weekend shifts are included, with a focus on managing patient flow and executing diverse imaging procedures in accordance with department protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or Certificate of Completion Radiologic Technology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
- Registered in Radiography (R) within 1 year - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Registered in Computed Tomography (CT) within 1 year - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) within 1 year - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Radiology work experience of 1+ years
- Ability to administer IV, oral/rectal contrast as appropriate
- Ability to screen for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage patient flow
- Willingness to assist in instruction of students and new staff
- Cross-training in other modalities as needed
- Compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
