Job Summary
Perform CT procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment and ingenuity under the direction of a radiologist and CT supervisor. Execute a variety of technical procedures with initiative to render prescribed CT scans in the Emergency Department expansion. Maintain registration as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with ARRT, with one year to obtain CT certification or certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Work full-time shifts including AM and PM, weekends, and rotating schedules from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m. Join UAB Medicine's Emergency Department expansion, which includes 115+ treatment spaces and new CT equipment designed with staff input.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
- Currently registered as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) (R) with ARRT
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- One (1) year from hire date to become registered in Computed Tomography (CT) from ARRT
- Additional period of up to one hundred and eighty (180) days if certification is not obtained within one year
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
- Must be available for weekends AM and PM
- Must be available for full-time and AM and PM shifts
- Must be available for 7 a.m.-7 p.m. shifts
- Must be available for 7 p.m.-7 a.m. shifts
