Job Summary
Perform CT procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment and ingenuity under the direction of a radiologist and CT supervisor. Execute a variety of technical procedures that do not require constant supervision of technical detail. Maintain registration as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with ARRT, with a one-year window to obtain CT certification or certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT). Operate within full-time shifts including AM/PM and weekend rotations, with a start date between now and August 2026 due to construction timelines. Join the Emergency Department expansion at UAB Hospital's new 115+ treatment space featuring dedicated CT scanners, X-ray machines, and bariatric ceiling lifts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
- Currently registered as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) (R) with ARRT
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- One (1) year from hire date to become registered in Computed Tomography (CT) from ARRT
- If certification is not obtained within one year, an additional period of up to one hundred and eighty (180) days may be allowed
