Job Summary
Conduct CT scan procedures by positioning patients, administering contrast agents, and ensuring radiation safety per standard operating procedures. Prepare equipment, manage room supplies, and perform quality control on examinations while documenting studies in RIS, HIS, and PACS systems. Assist physicians with exams, instruct student technologists, and rotate shifts covering weekends with on-call responsibilities. Complete necessary paperwork and attend required in-service training.
Required Qualifications
- Three years hospital experience as a staff technologist
- Must have State of New Jersey License
- ARRT certification
- CT certification obtained within 12-24 months of hire
- CPR certified
- Willing to obtain CPR within six months of hire
- Night shift availability
- 16 hours/week schedule
- Part-Time Schedule
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to position all anatomical parts as indicated by the Standard Operating Procedures
- Proven competency in the administration of IV contrast media, to include venipuncture
- Able to enter studies in RIS and HIS, and track cases
- Able to split and fix studies in PACS as necessary
- Able to attend the majority of educational in-services
- Able to demonstrate technical art to the students
- Able to evaluate student performance and fill out observation forms
- Assists in the instruction of student technologists
