Job Summary

Position patients for CT scans per standard operating procedures, administer cleansing preps and contrast agents under radiologist direction, and perform IV venipuncture. Ensure proper radiation protection techniques and sterile practices while maintaining equipment logs and restocking supplies. Manage patient scheduling, flow, and documentation in RIS/HIS and PACS systems, completing all necessary paperwork before interpretation. Assist physicians in examinations, instruct student technologists, and rotate shifts covering weekends and on-call duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Three years hospital experience as a staff technologist
  • State of New Jersey License
  • ARRT
  • CT certification
  • CPR certification
  • Night shift
  • 16 hours/week
  • Part-Time Schedule
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to obtain CT certification within 12-24 months of hire
  • Willingness to obtain CPR certification within six months of hire
  • Rotates shifts covering weekends
  • On-call availability

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to position all anatomical parts as indicated by the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Proven competency in the administration of IV contrast media, to include venipuncture
  • Experience administering cleansing preps and contrast agents
  • Competency in performing quality control of Cat scan examinations
  • Ability to enter studies in RIS and HIS, and track cases
  • Ability to split and fix studies in PACS as necessary
  • Ability to perform a variety of related clerical tasks
  • Ability to explain procedures to the patient and answer any questions prior to the commencement of the procedures
  • Ability to complete all necessary paperwork/documentation prior to the submitting of the procedure for interpretation
  • Ability to assist in the instruction of student technologists
  • Ability to demonstrate technical art to the students
  • Ability to evaluate student performance and fill out observation forms
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment maintenance
  • Ability to maintain room and room's stock
  • Ability to make necessary equipment maintenance recommendations
  • Ability to keep all necessary equipment maintenance logs
  • Ability to restock room accordingly
  • Ability to manage patient scheduling and smooth flow of schedule
  • Ability to perform patient preparation including contrast administration
  • Ability to practice sterile techniques and prevent cross contamination
  • Ability to secure and return supplies
  • Ability to maintain a positive and loyal attitude towards employer
  • Ability to attend the majority of educational in-services
  • Ability to attend in-service training as required by the department
