Job Summary
Position patients for CT scans per standard operating procedures, administering IV contrast media and cleansing preps under radiologist direction. Perform equipment maintenance troubleshooting, maintain logs, and ensure proper radiation protection for patients and personnel. Enter studies into RIS and HIS, track cases, and split/fix studies in PACS while completing necessary documentation. Assist physicians with examinations, rotate shifts covering weekends, and attend in-service training. Provide patient education prior to procedures and assist in instructing student technologists.
Required Qualifications
- Three years hospital experience as a staff technologist
- State of New Jersey License
- ARRT
- CT certification
- CPR certification
- Night shift
- 16 hours/week
- Part-Time Schedule
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to obtain CT certification within 12-24 months of hire
- Willingness to obtain CPR certification within six months of hire
- Willingness to rotate shifts covering weekends
- Willingness to be on-call
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to position all anatomical parts as indicated by the Standard Operating Procedures
- Proven competency in the administration of IV contrast media, to include venipuncture
- Ability to enter studies in RIS and HIS, and track cases
- Ability to split and fix studies in PACS as necessary
- Ability to perform a variety of related clerical tasks
- Ability to explain procedures to the patient and answer any questions prior to the commencement of the procedures
- Ability to assist in the instruction of student technologists
- Ability to demonstrate technical art to the students
- Ability to evaluate student performance and fill out observation forms
