Job Summary
Performs computerized tomographic (CT) radiographic scans according to established practices and procedures. Schedules, performs and formats all types of CT scans; verifies patient name and procedure before scanning; verifies exam order from chart or verbal order; educates patients prior to scanning; documents procedures and patient history; follows up with patients as required (e.g., post-biopsy or abscess drainage); assists physicians during procedures, maintains sterile setups, and anticipates equipment/supply needs; maintains department policies, quality assurance and safety; helps maintain department and equipment by ordering/stocking supplies; participates in staff meetings and continuing education; aims to become CT Registered within 5 years and CT Registry eligibility within 2 years. Qualifications include ARRT, NM CT license (or provisional), and current BLS.
