Job Summary
In collaboration with staff radiologists, this CT Technologist role assesses patients and safely performs routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols. Acts as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, and handles duties including verifying orders, operating imaging equipment, ensuring image quality, utilizing radiology information systems, and supporting departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance). Requires knowledge of CT procedures, radiologic technology and data entry, strong communication, and adherence to regulatory standards and privacy requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners
- Advanced certification in CT required within 2 years of employment
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
