Job Summary

Conduct CT scans per department protocol, ensuring proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation. Operate CT equipment and information systems to produce quality images, then review and evaluate scans for clarity and accuracy. Maintain ARRT competency, adhere to radiation safety guidelines, and complete studies within acceptable time limitations. Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and coordinate care by communicating pertinent information to other providers. Stay updated on CT technology advancements through continuing education and assist students and colleagues in protocols and positioning.

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days
  • Licensure in state of practice as applicable, Upon Hire
  • IV Competency within 90 Days
  • Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job
  • Understand and operate CT equipment and related information systems appropriately
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam
  • Perform exams per department protocol
  • Review and evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff
  • Completes studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations
  • Provide appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses patient and/or family concerns
  • Coordinate patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols by participating in continuing education and professional development activities
  • Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment
  • Current ARRT (R) (CT) registration
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CT Technologist
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and skill in recognition of normal and abnormal variants
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety
  • Fluoroscopy certification

  • Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT)
  • 1-2 years Work Experience CT Experience in a hospital setting
