Job Summary
Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions while operating CT equipment to ensure quality images. Prepare patients for exams, verify orders, and perform studies per department protocol without compromising care. Review images for accuracy, adhere to radiation safety guidelines, and provide patient education and comfort. Coordinate care with other providers and assist students in protocols and positioning. Stay updated on technology through continuing education and instruct peers in exam procedures.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days
- Licensure in state of practice as applicable, Upon Hire
- IV Competency within 90 Days
- Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job
- Understand and operate CT equipment and related information systems appropriately
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam
- Perform exams per department protocol
- Review and evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
- Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff
- Completes studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations
- Provide appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses patient and/or family concerns
- Coordinate patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols by participating in continuing education and professional development activities
- Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment
- Current ARRT (R) (CT) registration
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and skill in recognition of normal and abnormal variants
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CT Technologist
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT)
- 1-2 years Work Experience CT Experience in a hospital setting
- For caregivers hired in this role in the State of Colorado, a Fluoroscopy certification
