CT Technologist II - Weekend

Job Summary

Perform CT scans of designated anatomy using professional judgment while adhering to radiation safety precautions and physician specifications. Operate computed tomography scanners for data acquisition, image reconstruction, and quality control measures to ensure optimal results. Prepare images for PACS, review all scans for accuracy, and administer contrast media per protocol while notifying physicians of any adverse reactions. Communicate clearly with patients by explaining procedures in lay terms, addressing concerns, and maintaining confidentiality. Complete technical notes, verify images, and promptly send exams to PACS. Review patient charts prior to initiating exams to verify pertinent medical history and needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical School Diploma Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent
  • Less than 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Ability to provide proper patient care essential to radiologic procedures
  • Knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting to various protocols
  • Proficient use of the advanced software for CT scanning and post procedure processing applications
  • Strong aptitude for CT technology
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and upbeat demeanor
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
  • RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • CT - Computed Tomography ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
  • CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech NMTCB - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs
  • Frequent to continuous standing/walking
  • Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift
  • Attends department meetings or other mandatory meetings
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Graduate of Health Science program
  • Knowledge and skills to perform venipuncture
