CT Technologist II

Job Summary

Perform CT scans of designated anatomy using professional judgment while adhering to radiation safety precautions and physician specifications. Provide direct patient care to high acuity patients in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings, including trauma and ICU, while preparing patients for procedures and administering contrast media per protocol. Operate scanners, injectors, and monitors safely; review all images for quality, repeat exams as necessary, and prepare images for PACS. Communicate exam progress to patients, address concerns regarding PHI and HIPAA, and notify physicians of any adverse reactions or condition changes. Complete technical notes, verify images, and attend mandatory department meetings. Work an 8am-8:30pm rotating shift at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical School Diploma Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent
  • CNMT, RT(CT) Certified
  • Less than 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Ability to provide proper patient care essential to radiologic procedures
  • Knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting to various protocols
  • Proficient use of the advanced software for CT scanning and post procedure processing applications
  • Strong aptitude for CT technology
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and upbeat demeanor
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
  • RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech NMTCB - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • CT - Computed Tomography ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs
  • Frequent to continuous standing/walking
  • Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift
  • Attends department meetings or other mandatory meetings
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Graduate of Health Science program
  • Knowledge and skills to perform venipuncture
