CT Technologist - Iberville - PRN

Job Summary
Verify physician orders and independently operate CT equipment to perform imaging procedures according to protocol, including IV placement. Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards and complete timely quality control procedures. Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and adapt communication styles to specific patient populations. Serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students while assisting attending physicians with interventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance. Weekend coverage required for PRN role.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified
- ARRT registry eligible, registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of employment, and temporary state license
- CT registry eligible within one year
- Advanced certification in CT within one year of becoming CT registry eligible
- Current unrestricted license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Ability and willingness to have and maintain flexibility in work duties and hours (may require flexible schedule such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, etc.)
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout and between facilities
- General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and the hemodynamics of blood flow in relation to the various disease states
- Ability to preliminarily identify stenosis or occlusion based on nationally published criteria
- Ability to assist attending physicians with interventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance
- PRN- weekend coverage needed
Desired Qualifications
- CT experience
- Advanced certification in CT by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
- Ability to be self-directed and to function without direct supervision
