Job Summary
Acquire diagnostic images for interpretation utilizing ALARA principles, inject and distribute contrast for anatomy enhancement, and assist with invasive procedures as requested. Operate Siemens Somatom X 128 slice equipment while determining exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic images with minimum patient exposure. Position patients and adjust equipment to produce desired anatomy, examine images for evaluation of techniques and positions, and maintain ability to learn and perform interventional procedures as required. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, radiation safety, and radiographic physics to ensure efficient protocols. Work under supervision of radiologists and management team. Full-time position with flexible shift options including M-F 3pm-11pm, M-F 2pm-10pm, or Friday-Monday 1pm-9pm. Required Qualifications
- Associates in Radiologic Science
- Certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography A.R.R.T. (R) (CT)
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision making and patient care skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, and radiation protection and safety
- Knowledge of radiographic physics
- Knowledge of medical terminology and cross sectional anatomy
- Ability to determine exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic images with a minimum exposure to patients
- Ability to examine images for the purpose of evaluation of techniques, positions, and other related qualities
- Ability to position patient and adjust equipment to produce desired or optimum image of desired anatomy
- Skill in safe and efficient operation of CT equipment and quality control
- Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date
- Veni-puncture and comprehensive knowledge of proper use of contrast and injection of such contrast for patient exams
- Ability to determine proper protocols to achieve optimum diagnostic images with high degree of efficiency
- Maintains ability to learn and perform interventional procedures as required in CT environment
- R.T. (R) (CT) ARRT
- M.R.T. Texas Medical Board
- CPR
- Minimum 6 months experience in CT
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors in Radiologic Science
- Multiple modality registries from ARRT
- Greater than 1 year experience in CT
