Job Summary
Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images used for diagnosing medical conditions; performs imaging procedures not limited to CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy. Responsibilities include assessing and planning patient care for ages from adolescence to geriatric, producing sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation, transferring images via PACS and teleradiology, maintaining accurate records and billing information, ensuring image data integrity and HIPAA compliance, and performing routine maintenance and inventory management on imaging equipment. Requires ARRT CT certification, BLS, and CT-specific credentials; associates degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: RT(R)(CT)(ARRT) OR RT(R)(ARRT)
- ARRT-CT: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
- Advanced Certification in CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
- ARRT-Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT): Required
