Job Summary
In collaboration with staff radiologists, the CT Technologist assesses patients and safely performs routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols. The role serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, verifies physician orders, operates CT imaging equipment, ensures diagnostic-quality images, and supports departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance). The position requires radiologic technology training, ARRT certification, state licensure, and CT clinical proficiency with emphasis on patient communication, safety, and data-entry within radiology information systems.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a formal training program; Radiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners
- Advanced CT certification required within 2 years of employment
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
