Job Summary
Operates Computed Tomography and Routine Diagnostic Radiology equipment in accordance with standard operating policies and procedures. Prepares patient for exam, ensures enough information for physician diagnosis, assists in patient flow and image presentation for physician interpretation. Performs CT procedures including abdominal, thoracic, neuro, and extremity exams; positions patient, inputs history and requisition data, ensures appropriate slice thickness and pulse sequences, and confirms required images. Reviews with Radiologist to determine if additional scanning is needed; transfers images to film/disc memory, uses PACS, and assists with administration of IV contrast. Monitors patient condition throughout exams, reports changes, and performs routine equipment calibration and minor repairs. Supports scheduling, patient flow, and completion of CT exams. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT Registered Technologist (R.T.) required for positions filled after September 5, 2010; ARRT registration in Computed Tomography (CT) required within eighteen (18) months of entry date into positions filled after September 5, 2010
- Minimum six (6) months experience as a Radiology Technologist; previous CT experience preferred
