Job Summary
Perform quality CT exams using appropriate technical skills and established protocols while ensuring patient safety, radiation protection, and exceptional customer service. Participate in all aspects of patient care, including pre and post procedures, and maintain accurate documentation in the Radiology Information System. Generate imaging from the CT workstation and present films to radiologists, while occasionally providing direct or indirect supervision of radiology students and orderlies to coordinate patient flow. Assist with supportive duties such as transporting patients, equipment troubleshooting, and maintaining supplies. Collaborate on department improvement projects and work within a diverse patient population.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- Current BLS Certification
- Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- Registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Demonstrated ability to hold a high level of clinical and professional accountability
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, students, staff, and physicians
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to our patients and stakeholders
- Ability to coach and teach less experienced team members
- Ability to promote and work in a team setting
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a patient population of diverse educational, cultural, spiritual and socioeconomic background
- Computer literacy problem solving skills required
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of radiologic technologist experience with CT responsibilities preferred
- CT certified or ARRT registry eligible. Eligible candidates must obtain certification within one year of hire
