Job Summary
Operate radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic films, perform routine CT exams, and take quality x-ray images of specified body areas as ordered by physicians. Inject intravenous contrast media when supervised, plot axial, sagittal, and coronal images, and adjust scanning protocols to meet patient needs. Conduct daily QA tests, warm-up procedures, and calibrations while maintaining a clean, stocked, and safe exam environment. Resolve issues proactively, perform all documentation duties, and ensure patient comfort and dignity during procedures. Label, archive, and store exams correctly while verifying patient demographics and using measurement functions. Accept direction from supervisors and identify your role to patients, explaining procedures and answering questions. Complete CT certification within one year of employment and maintain NYS license and IV certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
- 2-5+ years experience
- Competence in all basic radiological exams
- Willingness to devote the time required completing the assigned tasks on schedule
- New York State License
- ARRT certification in CT, or eligible to sit for the CT registry
- Completion of CT Certification within 1 year of employment
- NYS License to Inject Intravenous Contrast Media
- CPR Certificate by The American Red Cross, American Heart Association or equivalent training program
- IV Certification
- Completion of IV Certification within 6 months of employment
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- ARRT certification in CT (if not already held)
- NYS License to Inject Intravenous Contrast Media (if not already held)
