Job Summary
Prepare patients for examination by positioning them and executing specialty radiologic exams, including CT Angio and Virtual Colonography. Review medical records to verify orders, inspect films for quality, and ensure proper patient identification before interpretation. Operate Siemens and GE CT units proficiently, perform phantom quality control, and place peripheral IV catheters. Maintain room supplies, report equipment malfunctions immediately, and complete daily exam data entry in EPIC and SYNAPSE systems. Assist with training new technologists and cross-train in other specialty areas as workload demands. Adjust to variable schedules and adhere to radiation dosimeter policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (CT)
- Must hold a current Florida General Radiographer license from the Department of HRS, Radiation Control
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Must be a Graduate of an AMA Accredited Educational Radiologic Technology Program for Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- Two years of clinical experience
- Must be able to perform CT Angio
- Must be able to perform Cystograms
- Must be able to perform Virtual Colonography
- Must be able to perform TAVR
- Must be able to perform Enterography
- Must be able to perform Rectal Contrast exams
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in 3D post-processing (Circle Of Willis, Aorta, Boney Extremities, Carotids)
- Proficient in Peripheral IV Catheter placement
- Proficient in Performing & Documenting Phantom Quality Control on Siemens & GE Scanners
- Proficient in operating Siemens & GE CT units
- Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of computer programs, particularly the EPIC and SYNAPSE systems
- Cross trains in other specialty areas/departments/facilities when work load demands to enhance skills outside assigned specialty clinical area
