Conduct computerized tomographic scans according to established standards, obtaining patient history and positioning patients appropriately for radiographic procedures. Educate patients and families regarding procedures, risks, and prevention while answering questions and explaining standard protocols. Operate head or body scanners to create cross-sectional images, determining technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology. Maintain infection prevention standards, perform equipment quality control, and troubleshoot scanner issues to ensure adequate inventory of supplies. Produce quality images and prepare accurate documentation, archiving data and collaborating with physicians on incidental findings. Ensure examination results meet facility quality assurance standards before release for interpretation.
