Job Summary
Operate CT equipment and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on patients using established protocols to assist radiologists in diagnosis and treatment. Select exposure factors and algorithms to produce accurate cross-sectional images, while maintaining sterile technique for complex invasive exams and administering IV contrast as needed. Practice radiation safety through proper shielding and adherence to regulatory standards, and maintain equipment by cleaning, disinfecting, and performing weekly quality assurance testing. Assess patient requisitions and laboratory results to ensure correct procedures, document exam information, and input data into the RIS and PACS systems. Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students while working effectively as a team member within the department.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate AMA approved radiology program
- Registered with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
- CT state license
- CPR certification
- Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure
- At least three year's experience as a radiological technologist
- ARRT Advanced CT Registry certified
- Associates or Applied Science Degree in related field
- Working knowledge applicable to radiological technology with specific references to anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as applied to radiological technology

- Customer service principles and practices
- OSHA principles and practices
- TJC standards of practice
- Operate CT equipment
- Schedule, organize and monitor patient flow to meet company productivity, quality, health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers
- Venipuncture certificate (where applicable)
- Maintain the confidentiality of patient records
- Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with required workloads
- Read, interpret and follow internal quality standards and government regulations
- Understand and follow specifications and instructions
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies
- Capable of maintaining basic life support (CPR)
- Saturday & Sunday, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM (every other week)
- 16 hours weekly (every other week)
- OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
- Physical lifting and/or walking
Desired Qualifications
- CPR certification may be required
- Individual exceptions may apply only under the discretion of the Medical and Administrative Director
