Job Summary
Perform all phases of CT scan testing on outpatients in accordance with department protocols and radiologist direction. Execute other diagnostic imaging exams, complete clerical and scheduling duties, and enter accurate patient study information into clinical systems. Obtain clinical history, verify insurance pre-authorization, and maintain patient confidentiality using two identifiers. Demonstrate proficiency in CT scanner units, computer systems, and CD burners while performing quality control and adhering to ACR, state, and Joint Commission regulations. Assist in student and new staff training regarding procedures, quality control, and radiation safety. This role involves floating across multiple outpatient centers including the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology
- Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection
- Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy
- An Associate's degree
- Certification in CPR
- Yearly PEEPS certification
- Completion of IV training course
- The successful completion of the CT Registry exam
