Job Summary
CT-ICU NP/PA, Full-Time: Manage and round on complex post-op cardiac surgery patients in a CT-ICU, including CABG, valve replacements, heart transplant, and durable mechanical support patients. Responsibilities include admission notes, daily progress notes, hemodynamic management, interpretation of pulmonary artery data, and management of chest tubes and mechanical support devices (ECMO, VADs, IABPs). Must perform or assist with procedures such as central/arterial line placement and intubation; 24/7 shift-based coverage with 13-hour shifts. Requires board-certified ACNP or PA with ICU/post-grad CT-ICU experience; BLS/ACLS; NC licensure within 60 days. Required Qualifications
- Board certified ACNP or PA
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice for ACNP; Nurse Practitioners must have ACNP certification
- PA must be certified by NCCPA
- Post-graduate ICU fellowship or CT-ICU experience
- BLS and ACLS
- NC licensure within 60 days of hire
- Experience in CT-ICU or post-grad ICU fellowship
- Experience in cardiac post-op management and hemodynamically complex patients
- Familiarity with ECMO, VADs, IABPs; knowledge of heart transplant management preferred
