Job Summary
Provide one-on-one college and career counseling to a caseload of 40-50 seniors through the admissions and financial aid processes, including creating college & career lists, guiding personal and supplemental essays, advising on financial aid, interviews, and matriculation decisions. Develop strong match/fit across college, CTE, and military pathways; support enrollment planning for Fall after senior year; teach and/or co-teach the 12th grade college & career course; plan working sessions with teachers; build relationships with families and caregivers; lead workshops for parents on college planning, financial aid, and application processes; manage letters of recommendation and coordinate with campus admissions. Requires Bachelor's degree and experience in college admissions/counseling; proficiency with MS Office; ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; commitment to Equity and mission of Achievement First.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Previous experience in either the high school counseling and/or college admissions field is required
- High School teaching or counseling strongly preferred
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus (optional)
