Job Summary
Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field while ensuring all tools are sterilized and in proper working order. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to requests, maintaining accurate counts of instruments and supplies to prevent retained items. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, then assist with post-operative clean-up and prepare for the next procedure. This role requires CST certification, BLS certification, and strong knowledge of surgical instruments and aseptic techniques. Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program
- Current certification through NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or eligibility to obtain
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
