Job Summary
Facilitate safe, efficient surgical procedures in the OR. Prepare the operating suite with sterile supplies and instruments, hand instruments to the surgeon, assist with patient positioning and draping, and maintain instrument counts throughout procedures. Requires NBSTSA or NCCT Surgical Tech certification and BLS within 30 days of hire; HS equivalency with a surgical technologist program (clinical component) or 4+ years of experience; associate/technical degree preferred. PRN Days schedule at UAB St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date
- Surgical Tech credential from NBSTSA or NCCT within 30 days of hire date
- High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with clinical component OR minimum 4 years of applicable job-specific experience
- Associate's degree or technical degree preferred
